Potts’ Organic Farms is a family farm in the heart of Iowa operated by Rod and Shannan Potts. Rod has an extensive background in both grain and livestock production as well as a degree in Diesel Mechanics. Shannan has a strong background in farming, mainly pork production, and a degree in Mechanical Engineering. They have been certified organic by MOSA (Midwest Organic Services Association) since 2005.

In January of 2006 Samantha joined the farm as an apprentice. She spent her first year riding in the tractor while Shannan baled hay. In April of 2007 Samantha was joined on the farm by her brother Redge. They have both spent plenty of tractor time with Rod and have a good time helping Shannan with chores. Their favorite tasks are chasing our flock of layers, helping to move our broilers and entertaining our Jersey while she is being milked. They have also had the enjoyment of weeding the garden and a few rows of soybeans. They are anticipating the arrival of their brother in January or 2009.
